The BSC Grünhöfe ( Bremerhaven Sport Club Grünhöfe eV ) is a sports club from the Bremerhaven district of Geestemünde . The first soccer team took part in the DFB Cup once.

history

The club was created in 1967 through the merger of the Bremerhaven Sport Club, founded in 1904, with the SV Grünhöfe, founded in 1952 . Both clubs were based in the Grünhöfe residential area that was built in the 1950s and shared the sports field. The BSC Grünhöfe has over 500 members in the departments of fitness and leisure , swimming , Koronarsport , Wirbelsäulengymnsatik , Gymnastics , Handicap football, floorball , rugby , Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and football.

As a member of the district conference Grünhöfe and through the cooperation “DFB-Doppelpass 2020” with the Fritz Reuter School and the “movement kindergarten” with the Grünhöfer day care centers, the BSCG is a classic district association.

Soccer

In 1974 the team was promoted to the Bremen Association League, the highest amateur league in Bremen. At the same time, Bremerhaven qualified for the DFB Cup, where the team lost 1:11 in the first round at Werder Bremen . In the championship, the Grünhöfer were third from bottom and had to relegate, because association league champions OT Bremen failed in the promotion round to the Oberliga Nord . In 1993, the team made it into the top Bremen amateur league for a year. Then she commuted between the district and district league.
