Villa Laurin
Villa Laurin is the present name of 1905 by businessman Riccardo Simonini as Villa Isabella built Art Nouveau building in Salo on the shores of Lake Garda . After the builder it was also called Villa Simonini . The architect was Ulisse Stacchini , who also designed the Milan train station .
The originally private luxury villa with well-preserved frescoes by the Italian Art Nouveau painters Cesare Bertolotti and Angelo Landi served as the seat of the Foreign Ministry for Mussolini's Italian Social Republic . The Rossi family acquired the building in the 1960s and converted it into a romantic hotel while maintaining its Art Nouveau character.
