FC Mahndorf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The FC Mahndorf was a sports club from the Bremen district of Hemelingen . The first soccer team played three years in the third-class Oberliga Nord and one year in the fourth-class Oberliga Niedersachsen / Bremen .

history

The club was founded in 1947 and shuttled back and forth between the district league and 3rd district class until well into the 1970s. From 1977 the spice company UBENA became involved in the association. He rose three times within four years and reached the Bremen State League. In the first national league year they were relegated, but after two further promotions in a row in 1984 they made the leap into the association league for the first time. The FCM was runner-up in 1986 behind the Bremer SV. In 1987, the team known as "Millionarios" became champions of Bremen and made it to the league north. On the last day of the match, the Mahndorfern managed to rise after a 5-0 win against TSV Plön. The club's home ground on Mahndorfer Deich was not suitable for the upper league, so the club had to move to the Hemelingen district sports facility. In 1989 the team reached 13th place. After the main sponsor UBENA cut its payments, the team was relegated from the league in 1990. In 1994, the FCM qualified for the newly created Oberliga Niedersachsen / Bremen, from which he immediately had to relegate as bottom of the table. A year later, the Mahndorfer also rose in the association league and in 2000 in the district league, in 2004 in the district league A and 2016 in the district league B.

Successor club SG Arbergen-Mahndorf

In 2016, FC Mahndorf merged with TV Mahndorf and TV Arbergen to form SG Arbergen-Mahndorf. The handball players of the SG Bremen-Ost also went over to the new club. In the season that was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic , the footballers reached the championship with 2.56 points by applying the quotient rules and thus rose to the 1st district league (A) .

fusion

On November 18, 2019, a merger with the ATSV Sebaldsbrück , OT Bremen , and the TuS Vahr was decided with the necessary share of the votes . However, this merger was then rejected by the members of ATSV Sebaldsbrück and OT Bremen in their own votes. Despite the plans not to actually merge without OT Bremen and the ATSV, the Mahndorfer and TuS Vahr finally agreed in August 2020 on a merger as a now smaller large association. The new name is Sportgemeinschaft Bremen-Ost . With retroactive effect from January 1, 2020, both the SG der Mahndorfer and TuS Vahr disappeared from the register of associations.
