The Gymnastics and Sports Association Wulsdorf von 1861 eV is a sports club from the Bremerhaven district of Wulsdorf .
history
The association goes back to the TV Wulsdorf founded in 1861 , which later renamed itself to SV Wulsdorf . This merged on April 29, 1939 with the VfL Wulsdorf to TSV Wulsdorf. VfL Wulsdorf was the successor to the workers' TuS Wulsdorf , which was banned in 1933 .
Women's soccer
The footballers of TSV Wulsdorf were among the strongest teams in Bremen football in the 1970s and early 1980s . Between 1975 and 1982 they took part in the finals for the German championship eight times . However, the team was always eliminated in the first round. The Wulsdorf women failed the narrowest in 1975 when they had to admit defeat to Wiker SV 3: 4 after a total of 3: 4. Five years later, the team had to admit defeat 0:11 in the second leg of the 1980 women's soccer championship at SC 07 Bad Neuenahr .
The club then lost its leadership position in Bremen women's football and in 1986 missed the newly introduced Oberliga Nord . The TSV women never got beyond local leagues and are currently competing in the fifth-class national league .
Men's soccer
The TSV footballers, known as the "Löwen von der Ahnthöhe", were promoted to the then second-class Bremen regional league in 1949 and came third behind Blumenthaler SV and Bremen 1860 in the promotion season . In 1955 this success could be repeated. A year earlier, the team won the Bremen Cup with a 2-1 win after extra time over SG Aumund-Vegesack . In 1966, the team rose after a decider defeat against Sparta Bremerhaven and immediately returned to the Bremen House of Lords. Even after the second descent in 1969, the immediate resurgence succeeded.
For many years the TSV played mostly in the midfield of the top division called from 1978 association league, before relegation to the district league for the first time in 1983. During the 1980s, the Wulsdorfer became an elevator team between the Bremen State League and the District League, and in 1994 they again reached the Association League . In 2000, the TSV rose from this and was passed through to the district league. In 2007, two consecutive promotions brought the team back to the Association League , which was renamed the Bremen League in 2008 . During the Bremen-Liga season 2012/13 , the Wulsdorfers withdrew their team after the winter break from ongoing play.
ice Hockey
After the withdrawal of EHC Bremerhaven in 1987, most of the players in this club moved to the ice hockey department of TSV Wulsdorf. Between 1988 and 1995 the senior team played in lower leagues.
