from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The EHC Bremerhaven was an ice hockey team in Bremerhaven that was active from 1977 to 1987. The club's greatest success was promotion to the ice hockey league in 1984/85 .

history

The EHC Bremerhaven was founded in 1977 by some dissatisfied members of the RSC Bremerhaven as a pure youth club. In 1983 the EHC entered the regional league with a senior team . Already in the first season the promotion to the league succeeded. Due to the bankruptcy of the RSC, it was also the top club in Bremerhaven. After a year in the league, however, they were relegated again. In the following year they became the last of the Regionalliga Nord, while the RSC successor REV Bremerhaven became regional league champions. After a season in the Lower Saxony / Bremen state league, games were stopped in 1987.

A large part of the players switched to TSV Wulsdorf , who played in lower leagues until 1995. Formally, the EHC Bremerhaven still exists today.

In 2006 a new club called EHC Bremerhaven was founded, which played from 2006 to 2009 under the name Mad Dogs Fischtown in the Landesliga Nord.
