The Wiker SV is a sports club from the Kiel district of Wik . The first women's football team took part in the final round of the German championship three times . The first men's soccer team played in the highest amateur league in Schleswig-Holstein for eight years . The volleyball women play in the Regionalliga Nord. The association was founded on June 5, 1929.
Women's soccer
The women's football department was first established in 1970. From 1974 to 1976 the team won the state championship of Schleswig-Holstein three times in a row and thus qualified for the final round of the German championship. Only in 1975 did the Kiel women survive the first round. After they were able to prevail against TSV Wulsdorf , Tennis Borussia Berlin took care of the quarter-finals . The Schleswig-Holstein Cup was won in 1977. In 1978 the department was dissolved again because there was a lack of players. In March 2007 a fresh start was made. The team currently plays in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district league .
Men's soccer
The men of Wiker SV made the leap into the East District Class for the first time in 1952 , but after relegation in 1954 they were only able to establish themselves after being promoted again in 1956. In 1967 the Wiker went back to the district league with just 6:54 points. In the 1970s, the WSV was the elevator team between the district and district league, before the rise in 1978 for the first time succeeded in the Landesliga Nord . Four years later, he was promoted to the Schleswig-Holstein Association League . After five years of relegation battle, it went back to the national league in 1987.
In 1992 the team was promoted again to the association league, where two years later the team missed qualifying for the newly created Oberliga Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein by three points. In 1995, as fourth from last, relegation followed, as three teams from Schleswig-Holstein had to relegate from the league. After the dissolution of the national leagues in 1999, the WSV was grouped into the regional league east , from which they were relegated in 2004. After further promotions and relegations, the WSV men have been playing in the Association League East since 2017 and had to relegate to the district league a year later.
volleyball
The volleyball department was founded in 1978. The women of Wiker SV played from 2013 to 2016 under coach Jürgen Vogt in the Third League North . In 2016 the team joined the Kieler TV . Wiker SV currently has a women's team in the Regionalliga Nord as well as a women's and a men's team in the Schleswig-Holstein Association League. The Wiker SV is still known for good youth work in the girls' sector.
Another important part of the volleyball department is mixed volleyball. In addition to various regional titles, they were also four times Schleswig-Holstein state champion.
