The Kieler TV ( Kieler Turnverein ) was founded in 1885 and is one of the largest sports clubs in Kiel . The figureheads are the volleyball men who play as "KTV-Eagles" in the second division . In addition to volleyball, gymnastics, handball, karate, table tennis and a lot more are offered.

history

The volleyball department of Kieler TV was founded in the early 1970s. The men played (with a few interruptions) since 1976 in the Schleswig-Holstein Association League and rose to the Regionalliga Nord in 2012, where they won the championship in 2018. In 2018, the KMTV Eagles joined Kieler TV as promoted players in the 2nd Bundesliga North . The second men's team now plays in the third division , the third men's team in the regional league.

The women have played in the Association League since 1977 and at times even in the Regionalliga Nord. In 2009, the women of FT Adler Kiel were promoted to the second division and transferred their eligibility to play on Kiel TV. After a twelfth place in 2009/10, they went back to the Regionalliga Nord, where second place was achieved in 2010/11. In 2011/12 the Kiel team qualified with third place for the newly created Third League North , in which they won the runner-up in 2013 and were promoted back to the Second Bundesliga North. In 2015, the KTV women were relegated to the third division again. In 2016, the Kiel women finished last in the third division north. By transferring the team of local rivals Wiker SV , KTV was able to get the third division place. In 2017, the women were again last and were relegated to the Regionalliga Nord. In 2018 he was immediately promoted to the third division.

There are numerous other men's, women's and youth teams in KTV volleyball.

2nd Bundesliga men

The KTV-Adler squad for the 2019/20 season consists of fourteen players. Matthes Behlen has been the head coach since summer 2018. He is supported by co-trainers Mats-Ole Schulz and Arian Söhlbrandt and team doctor Jens Lassen.
