FT Adler Kiel is a sports club in Kiel , which was represented with its volleyball division in the 2nd Bundesliga (men) . From 2010 to 2012 this team competed for VT Kiel , after which the volleyball players joined the Kiel MTV . In addition to volleyball, rugby, handball, karate, table tennis and a few other sports are also offered.

The Adler Free Gymnastics Association was founded in 1893. She was one of the pioneers in Schleswig-Holstein volleyball in the 1960s and 70s under its then chairman Michael Klieber . Adler Kiel played with numerous teams in youth, women and men. In the beach volleyball Adler Kiel was a leader in Schleswig-Holstein .

2nd Bundesliga

The men from FT Adler Kiel played in the 2nd Bundesliga for five years from 1995 to 2000 before they were promoted again from the Regionalliga in 2008. The women played in the 2nd Bundesliga for one season in 1999/2000. In 2009 the Adler women were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga again, but started for Kiel TV in the 2009/10 season for financial and organizational reasons .

The home games were played in the Hein-Dahlinger -Halle in Kiel-Gaarden, Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 9.

rugby

The men's rugby team achieved promotion as regional league champions in the 2014/15 season. She currently plays in the 2nd Bundesliga North.

In addition to volleyball / beach volleyball and rugby, the FT Adler Kiel sports karate , gymnastics , Indiaca , handball , trampoline and table tennis .
