The Friends of Volleyball Boarding School in Frankfurt is an institution in Frankfurt am Main that offers talented young volleyball players the opportunity to optimally combine volleyball sport and school. The boarding school's junior team has special rights to play in the first and second German volleyball leagues .
The Frankfurt volleyball boarding school was founded on November 8, 1983 with the support of the Hoechst company as the Frankfurt-Höchst volleyball boarding school. It was the first of its kind in the German Volleyball Association and in ball sports at all. The boarding school in Frankfurt also survived the departure of the namesake (1992) with the subsequent move to the Otto-Fleck-Schneise as well as the installation of further boarding schools (e.g. VC Olympia Berlin ) and bases. The volleyball boarding school in Frankfurt brought numerous Bundesliga and national players such as u. a. Bernhard Hoffmann , Michael Dornheim , Axel Hager , Christian Pampel , Jochen Schöps , Christian Dünnes , Lukas Kampa , Moritz Reichert , Tobias Krick and Noah Baxpöhler .
The volleyball boarding school achieved international success with medals at the Junior European Championships in 1986, 1990, 2002, 2004 (bronze), 2008 (silver) and 2018 (gold) as well as fourth place at the Junior World Championships in 1987. They also established themselves the Frankfurt boarding school quickly in the Bundesliga and in the national team .
Today the junior team of the Frankfurt volleyball boarding school plays in the Third League South .
