The sports club Warnemünde is a German sports club from Rostock in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

The traditional sports club emerged on July 23, 1990 from its predecessor, the BSG Motor Warnowwerft Warnemünde . Today are the following departments

as well as the football department, the SV Warnemünde football (still a member of the main club), which was separated out in 1999 .

The association has a total of 1193 members, who are divided into children, young people and adults. Thus the SV Warnemünde is one of the largest clubs in Rostock and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. There are currently around 80 voluntary trainers working in the association.

SV Warnemünde is a member of the State Sports Association of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the City Sports Association of Rostock .

volleyball

The volleyball players form the most successful department of SV Warnemünde. The first women's team and the first men's team have been playing in the third division north since 2012 . The men's team made it into the 2nd German Volleyball Bundesliga in 2017 .

Wrestling

The wrestlers of the club competed for years together with the SV Rostock police in a fighting community in the wrestling Bundesliga . After the descent in 2009 a new formation followed under the name of coastal ringers .
