Description and meaning
The flag has a blue background with a yellow stripe near the bottom. The ratio of the width of the horizontal strips is 5: 1: 2. There are two white, five-pointed stars in the upper left corner. The blue ( Pantone 280) symbolizes the sea and the sky, separated by the yellow (Pantone 102) sun. The two stars represent Curaçao and the neighboring island of Klein Curaçao , the five points represent the continents from which Curaçao's residents come.
The flag is strongly reminiscent of the Naurus flag , which also has a yellow band with a star on a blue background.
