Null Uhr is the debut album by the Austrian hip-hop musician MAdoppelT . It was released on May 3, 2004 on the Schwer Records label. The release of the long player was preceded by the promo single "Rock den Shit".

background

In addition to goalgetter and Groove Attack, a sales partner was found in the Viennese company Hoanzl . A contract was signed with Vivendi's subsidiary , Universal Music Publishing , to publish the tracks by H. Hörtnagl . Flo Machek acted as production manager , the texts were entirely written by MAdoppelT itself. Well-known Austrian artists such as Diana Lueger ( second wife ) or Boris Uran (participant in the Starmania casting show ) were selected as guest musicians . The beats come from Kaltschale! , Honeycut , Double Risk , DBH ( Total Chaos ), the Waxolutionists member Bionic Kid , TwinTowas as well as Rasputin (producer of the German rapper Azad ) and the Bedford Beatz . Musically, hip-hop sets the tone on the album , with elements of contemporary R&B next to it . The illustration of the album cover comes from the company Superplus + .

reception

Commercial success did not materialize after the album was released, a chart position could not be reached, although the reviews were largely positive. Sebastian Fasthuber, journalist for the left-wing liberal weekly newspaper Falter , describes MAdoppelT as Thomas Muster of hip-hop , his album is a daring experiment between underground tracks and pieces with […] previously unheard R-'n'-B choruses , MAdoppel is characterized by an amazing linguistic agility that is still rarely found in German-speaking hip-hop .

The e-zine rapheadz.de finds negative criticism of the album. The intro loading directly to nod and the links to read the next two tracks would build mood , but walk the album then. Lyrically it's not bad, the sluggish rap style gets on your nerves after a while. The album is one with two sides and only mediocre .
