The TSV Neustadt in Holstein is a sports club from Neustadt in Holstein . The first soccer team played for four years in the highest amateur league in Schleswig-Holstein .

history

The club was created on January 22, 1946 through the merger of the Neustädter MTV founded on June 11, 1868, the Neustadt workers' gymnastics club founded in 1907 and the Cimbria Neustadt FC founded on May 31, 1908 . Due to the local unit of the Federal Border Police, the footballers of the TSV experienced a sporting boom after the Second World War . In 1950 he was promoted to the Schleswig-Holstein State League . In the promotion season, the Holsteiners barely held the class.

In the 1952/53 season the TSV could no longer provide a competitive team and at the end of the season only achieved three points with 168 goals conceded. At Phönix Lübeck the Neustädter lost 0:11 and also at VfL Bad Schwartau (1:11) and at VfR Neumünster (3:11) there were double-digit defeats. There followed many years in the middle of the district league south, before it went back to the district league in 1971. In 1980 the TSV returned and two years later rose to the Landesliga Süd .

With luck, the Neustädter returned in 1983 to the top division of Schleswig-Holstein, now known as the association league . The TSV was runner-up behind VfB Lübeck II . However, since the Lübeck first team was relegated to the association league, Neustadt moved up. This time too, the Neustadt team was overwhelmed and promptly relegated. In 1986 it went back to the district level and three years later the TSV had arrived in the district class.

After further ascents and descents, the Neustadters missed the newly created association league in 2008 , to which they were promoted and relegated again in 2010. Since then, the team has been in the Ostholstein district league . In 2020/21 she will compete in the association league after a temporary syndicate with NTSV Strand 08 has been dissolved .

The handball department of the TSV together with the TSV Grömitz form the HSG Ostsee Neustadt / Grömitz . The first men's team has been competing in the 3rd division since the 2018/19 season .
