The Lower Rhine Football Regional League 1947/48 was the first season of the top amateur class in the area of the Lower Rhine Football Association under the name Landesliga . The Landesliga Niederrhein was located below the Oberliga West , which was founded at the same time, and was held in three groups. The three group winners determined in a final round the Niederrhein champion and only climber in the Oberliga West. Here Rot-Weiss Essen prevailed. A total of eight clubs were relegated from the three groups.
