The TuS Radevormwald (officially: Turn- und Sportverein Radevormwald eV ) was a sports club from Radevormwald in the Oberbergischer Kreis . The first soccer team played for three years in the highest amateur league in the Lower Rhine region.

history

In 1947 TuS Radevormwald was one of the founding members of the Lower Rhine Regional League , the highest amateur league at the time. There the TuS met well-known clubs such as Borussia Mönchengladbach or Duisburger SpV . After a fifth place in the 1948/49 season, relegation to the district class followed a year later. In 1953 it went down to the district class, where however the direct rise was successful. Again the descent into the district class followed.

The team disappeared from the higher divisions. In 1970 the TuS Radevormwald merged with the TSV Schwarz-Weiß Radevormwald to form SpVg Radevormwald . This celebrated in the 2006/07 season once again the state league championship and promotion to the Niederrhein association league . In August 2008 the SpVg had to file for bankruptcy. The SC 08 Radevormwald was founded as the successor club.
