The sports facilities and the clubhouse are located in the Golzheim district on Hans-Böckler-Strasse in the north sports center. The association has around 800 members. The club colors are black / red.

Originally a pure football and handball club , the Ballspielverein 04 Düsseldorf e. V. today also offers table tennis , badminton , jiu jitsu and gymnastics for children and seniors. Another focus is on intensive youth work. In addition to the club house, the club facilities include a modern multi-purpose sports hall and two football fields , including an artificial turf field that can be played on all year round . The club is known beyond the borders of Düsseldorf and North Rhine-Westphalia above all for the international U19 junior soccer tournament ( U19 Champions Trophy ), which it has held regularly at Easter since 1963.

Achievements of the football department

The club played in the 1946/47 season with Fortuna Dusseldorf, among others, in what was then the first-class Berg-Mark district league. From 1947 to 1952 BV 04 played in the Lower Rhine regional league with clubs such as Borussia Mönchengladbach , Duisburger SpV and Sterkrade 06/07 . In the following decades, the club was rarely represented in high-class amateur football. In 1964, the promotion to the meanwhile fourth-class Lower Rhine regional league was celebrated, followed in 1968 by relegation. The return to the regional league succeeded BV 04 Düsseldorf in 1976 and the promoted team narrowly missed the march into the association league as runner-up in the following season. In the 1977/78 season, the first team of BV 04 Düsseldorf once again attracted national attention when they entered the DFB Cup and won 3-0 goals in the first round against VfL Bad Schwartau . In the second round, the club failed in front of 7,000 spectators at Borussia Mönchengladbach with a 1: 4. In 1979 the team won the championship title of the state league and rose to the fourth-class Niederrhein association league , from which he retired two years later. In terms of sport, the fall followed up to the district league, from which one rose again in 1998 to the state league and established itself in this class for ten years. After relegation from the Lower Rhine regional league , the first soccer team played again in Group 1 of the Lower Rhine regional league from 2008 to 2012 . After a further descent, she joined the district league A from 2012, from which she returned to the district league in 2014. There were three relegations in four years to the district league C.
