The FC 03 Süchteln (officially: Football Club 03 Süchteln ) was a sports club from the Süchteln district of Viersen . The first soccer team played for a year in the highest amateur league in the Lower Rhine region.

history

The club was founded in 1903, making it the oldest football club in the then still independent town of Süchteln. In 1940 the association merged with Grün-Weiß Viersen to form SG Grün-Weiß Viersen-Süchteln . However, this merger was resolved a year later. In 1947 the club was one of the founding members of the Lower Rhine Regional League , the highest amateur league at the time. The addicts got down from this at the end of the season.

In 1955, the Süchtelner were once again runner-up in the district class behind Prussia Krefeld , before the team managed to rise again to the state league three years later. This was only the second highest amateur league after the introduction of the Niederrhein Association League in 1956. In 1969 the FC 03 Süchteln merged with the Germania Süchteln gymnastics club to form ASV Süchteln 60/03 . 25 years later this club merged with the gymnastics club Einigkeit Süchteln-Forst to become today's ASV Einigkeit Süchteln .
