The Mecklenburg regional soccer class 1949/50 was the fourth edition of the Mecklenburg regional soccer class . Again, the championship was held in two seasons in a round-robin tournament. The winners and runners-up from both seasons qualified for the final round in which the winner was determined. In the end, the promoted SG Vorwärts Wismar was able to win its first Mecklenburg soccer championship. With this victory, Wismar qualified for the promotion round to the GDR Oberliga 1950/51 , but was last in the group of five and missed promotion to the first class. Since the second-rate GDR league was introduced for the coming season , Wismar qualified for this. Due to this introduction, the national class was only third class from the coming season.

Since the national class was held on a single track from 1950/51, there were seven relegated teams in 1949/50. After the Eastern Zone sport had been converted to the basis of company sports associations (BSG) , most of the previous SG appeared with new names.
