The regional soccer league Rheinhessen / Nahe 1949/50 was the first season of the top amateur division of the Southwest German Football Association founded in 1949 in the Rheinhessen / Nahe area. The League was the successor to the division Rheinhessen whose catchment area around the football until then technically the 1949 Rhineland associated spatial Birkenfeld / Bad Kreuznach has been extended (the "near field").
The state league was located below the north group of the former Oberliga Südwest . Eintracht Bad Kreuznach became champions and rose to the Oberliga Südwest. The SG 1946 Bretzenheim , Eintracht Mombach and SV Vesalia 08 Oberwesel dismounted from the national league. TV 1817 Mainz and SV Tiefenstein were included as promoters .
