The 1. FC Sobernheim (full name: 1. Soccer Club 03 Sobernheim eV ) was a soccer club from Bad Sobernheim . The first team played one season in the then second-class II. Division Southwest.
history
The club was founded on June 26, 1903 and reached the Amateur League Southwest after the end of World War II . After a descent in 1953, the immediate resurgence followed. In 1955 , the team was promoted to champion, but missed in the promotion round the possible march into the II. Division. In 1961 the team was again Southwest Champion and this time made it to the second division.
The second division season 1961/62 ended 1. FC as bottom of the table and returned to the amateur league. When the team was relegated from the amateur league in 1967, 1. FC became the elevator team . In 1976, the Sobernheimer returned once more to the amateur league, but missed qualifying for the newly created Oberliga Südwest in 1978 as a knock-off bottom of the table .
After several years in the district league, the club rose to the district league in 1987, but returned two years later. In 1993, the club was renamed SC Sobernheim , before it merged with VfL 1921 Pferdeweiler-Eckweiler to form SC Bad Sobernheim in 1998 . Under this name, he was promoted to the regional league in 2000, which the club was only able to hold for two years. In 2004 he managed to return to the national league before relegation in 2008. A year later, the club was only just able to avoid bankruptcy .
