The 1st Soccer Amateur League Southwest 1955/56 was the 4th season of the third class 1st amateur league in regional men's soccer in the southern part of Rhineland-Palatinate and a predecessor of the Soccer Association League Southwest . The 1st Amateur League Southwest was formed in 1952 by amalgamating the amateur leagues Rheinhessen , West Palatinate and Front Palatinate and existed until the 1977/78 season as the third highest league. After the introduction of the Oberliga Südwest in 1978 as the highest amateur league, the league was renamed "Verbandsliga Südwest" and was only fourth class from that point on.
