The 1st Soccer Amateur League Southwest 1956/57 was the 5th season of the third class 1st amateur league in regional men's soccer in the southern part of  Rhineland-Palatinate and a predecessor of the Soccer Association League Southwest . The 1st Amateur League Southwest was formed in 1952 by amalgamating the amateur leagues  RheinhessenWest Palatinate  and  Front Palatinate and existed until the 1977/78 season as the third highest league. After the introduction of the Oberliga Südwest in 1978 as the highest amateur league, the league was renamed "Verbandsliga Südwest" and was only fourth class from that point on.

The championship was won by VfR Friesenheim . Runner-up Hassia Bingen took part in the promotion round to the II. Southwest Division , but had no success there. Phoenix Bellheim , last year's champions Normannia Pfiffligheim and SpVgg Ingelheim had to relegate to the 2nd amateur league. For the following season 1957/58 , the two amateur teams from 1. FC Kaiserslautern and FSV Mainz 05 , as well as from the II. Division relegated Ludwigshafener SC , came from the 2nd amateur leagues as promoters .
