history
The club was founded in 1913 as the 1913 Schifferstadt Football Association , which was renamed FC Olympia 1913 Schifferstadt in the same year . On February 11, 1920, the name was changed to FV 1913 Schifferstadt . On May 3, 1929, the FV 1913 merged with the SV 1923 Schifferstadt to form the FSV Schifferstadt. On July 1, 1939, the name was changed to VfL Schifferstadt . Since February 22, 1946, the association has had its current name again.
The FSV was one of the founding members of the Southwest Amateur League in 1952 . In 1960 the team was runner-up behind the amateurs of 1. FC Kaiserslautern and prevailed in the promotion round to the II. Division. Eighth place in the 1960/61 season was the best placement. With the dissolution of the II. Division in 1963, the FSV returned to the amateur league.
In 1965 the FSV was runner-up behind SV Alsenborn and qualified for the German amateur championship . In the first round, the team was eliminated against the amateurs of VfB Stuttgart . The FSV-Kicker could no longer follow these successes and were relegated in 1973 from the amateur league and a year later even from the 2nd amateur league. Only in 1976 succeeded in returning to the now called District League Vorderpfalz 2nd Amateur League, before being promoted to the Association League Southwest in 1981.
After two years he was relegated to the district league, which belonged to the FSV until further relegation to the district class in mid-1999. In the 2003/04 season there was a brief return to the district league. The rapid relegation was followed in 2005 by the immediate resurgence, as a result of which they played for 7 years until the 2012 season in the district league Vorderpfalz. Two years after relegation, the club was champion in the district class middle and another two years later the championship could also be celebrated in the district league Vorderpfalz. This means that the FSV will be able to compete in the Landesliga Ost for the first time in the club's history in the 2016/17 season.
