Markus Kranz (born August 4, 1969 in Speyer ) is a former German soccer player .

Athletic career

Markus Kranz comes from the offspring of FSV 13/23 Schifferstadt . As a young player he moved to 1. FC Kaiserslautern , for whom he made his first appearances in the Bundesliga in 1987 . He was only used sporadically at the beginning, but was able to establish himself as a regular player from 1990 under coach Karl-Heinz Feldkamp . The greatest successes with FCK were winning the DFB Cup in 1990 and the German championship in 1991 .

In 1992, Kranz signed a contract with Bayer 05 Uerdingen , from where he moved to Dynamo Dresden after a season . In 1995 he moved from there to the 2nd Bundesliga for SC Fortuna Köln for four years . After further guest appearances at FC Emmen , VfR Mannheim and FC Junkersdorf , he ended his career at VfL Rheinbach in 2006 .

From July 1, 2007, Kranz worked alongside Ingo Anderbrügge as an assistant trainer at Wacker Burghausen for a year .

From 2010 to 2012 Kranz coached the first team of the Rhineland division SG Auw / Stadtkyll.
