The FC Junkersdorf is a sports club with over 700 members in the departments soccer , table tennis , women and men volleyball , badminton , spring soccer , senior gymnastics , parent and child gymnastics and hiking from the Cologne suburb of Junkersdorf .
history
The club, founded in 1946 by four friends in the restaurant Zum Strößje , played in the lower amateur area until the end of the 1990s . The upward trend began in 1998 with the championship in the ninth-class Cologne district league B and the associated promotion to the district league A. It was followed by promotion to the district league in 1999, promotion to the regional league in 2000 and promotion to the Mittelrhein association league in 2002 . The club celebrated its last ascent to the fourth-class Oberliga Nordrhein in 2004, from which it had to relegate in 2006. In 2011, FC Junkersdorf became champions of the Middle Rhine League . However, since the senior football department was merged into the newly founded club FC Viktoria Köln , the successor club of SCB Viktoria Köln , which had fallen into bankruptcy , the starting place in the North Rhine-Westphalia league won by the Middle Rhine Championship was taken by Viktoria in the 2011/12 season.
Since then, only junior football has been played at FC Junkersdorf.
Stadion
Since qualifying for the Oberliga Nordrhein, the club has often changed its venue. Since the actual sports field of the FCJ is not suitable for the upper league, they first played in the ASV stadium in the Müngersdorf sports park, in the shadow of the Rheinenergiestadion . Already in the 2004/05 season they moved to the sports center Weiden , which has a standing grandstand for 1000 spectators. However, as there is no permanent catering area or toilets there, they returned to the ASV Stadium for the 2006/07 season.
From the 2007/08 season, FC Junkersdorf played in the Ostkampfbahn in Sportpark Müngersdorf . In addition to sufficient standing room, the artificial turf system also has a grandstand for 250 spectators.
