Georg Jung (born August 4, 1946 ) is a former German soccer player .

career

At FSV Schifferstadt , the young outrunner drew attention to himself in the 1964/65 season when he won the runner-up in the 1st amateur league south-west behind champions and regional league promoted SV Alsenborn and in the south-west selection in the regional cup . For the 1965/66 season he signed a contract with FK Pirmasens in the then second-class Regionalliga Südwest. In its debut season, 1965/66 , the FKP won the championship in the southwest and Jung had 25 league appearances under coach Kurt Sommerlatt at the side of other players such as Horst Brill, Alois Herbrik, Peter Jann, Heinrich Seebach, Hans-Erwin Volberg, Roland Weida and Hilmar Weishaar scored five goals. In the Bundesliga promotion round, Pirmasens failed with equal points - 8: 4 points each - to Fortuna Düsseldorf. Jung completed all six promotion games. Until 1968, Jung played for FK Pirmasens in the Regionalliga Südwest and played 62 regional league games with seven goals. He then worked for Rot-Weiss Essen for three years . In 1969 he was promoted to the Bundesliga with Essen and played 52 Bundesliga games (3 goals) for RWE by 1971 . In the 1971/72 season, the midfielder played for Tasmania Berlin in the Berlin City League . Jung played for another six years as a professional at Wuppertaler SV . His greatest success at WSV was in 1972/73 when he reached fourth place in the Bundesliga. In 1975 he had to accept relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga North with his club . In total, he came to 114 games (7 goals) in the Bundesliga and 65 games (one goal) in the 2nd Bundesliga North.
