The Football Association League Southwest 2008/09 was the first season of the now sixth class Association League Southwest in regional men's football in the southern part of Rhineland-Palatinate after the introduction of the 3rd division .

The championship was won by Hassia Bingen . The 1. FC Meisenheim was relegated as the only club in the national league after this season. The Eintracht Bad Kreuznach was allowed to play in the league in the following season. TSG Kaiserslautern (West) and ATSV Wattenheim as well as TSG Pfeddersheim (both East) came as promoters for the next season from the regional league . The SG Lonsheim-Spiesheim did not appear in the league in the next season.
