The 1. FC Haßloch is a German football club based in the united free village of Hassloch in Rhineland-Palatinate district of Bad Durkheim .

history

Founded until World War II

The club was founded in early 1908 under the name of the Germania Haßloch football club . On February 11, 1911, they joined the South German Football Association. However, with the outbreak of World War I , gaming operations came to a standstill for the time being. On February 9, 1919, it was decided to change the club name to Football Club 08 Haßloch . From 1920, regular gaming operations followed in the A-Class for the first time. After the National Socialists came to power on January 30, 1933, the FC had to merge with several local clubs to form the Haßloch branch. The name of this new large club was then changed on March 18, 1938 to Verein für Leibesübungen 1880 (VfL Haßloch). As a result of the Second World War , the number of members decreased again and again, which was finally followed by the de-registration of the last youth team in 1941. From then on there was no gaming at all until the end of the war.

post war period

The first game took place again just five months after the end of the war. The Haßloch sports community was founded in 1946 as the successor to VfL . From the 1946/47 season onwards, she played again in the middle A-class and after winning a play-off game held this class. Another season later, however, the relegation to the B-Class followed. After just one season, however, the direct promotion back to the A-Class was successful. On September 6, 1951, the club was renamed the gymnastics and sports community Haßloch . With the championship title of the 1952/53 season in the A-class, TSG rose to the 2nd amateur league Vorderpfalz for the first time. In the following seasons it was often possible to play for the championship. After the 1960/61 season there was even a promotion game against 1. FC Idar 07 , which the opponent should win 3-2. In the following season, despite the new coach Gerhard Gawliczek, it was not enough for promotion. After the 1963/64 season, there was even relegation to the A-class. Then there were again efforts to leave the large club and finally to appear again as an independent club. On April 15, 1965, it was agreed to found 1. FC 08 Haßloch .

Promotion to the 1st amateur league

After an initial problem, the club then made it to first place in the final spurt of the 1968/69 season and thus secured the championship title and the associated promotion to the 2nd amateur league . In the following season, the class could then be kept in eleventh place. On July 13, 1970, a women's team met for the first time for a training session, which was later to be followed by many more games. This team only existed for a few years after that. After the reform of the divisions, the club then played from the 1975/76 season in the now district league Vorderpfalz hot league. The next season should finally allow the championship and thus promotion to the Southwest League . The first season in the new third-class league then ended with 32:40 points in 13th place, which was enough to stay in the 19-team strong season. After the 1977/78 season , the amateur league should then be divided. The first five teams qualified for the new Oberliga Südwest . This was also the goal of 1. FC, but after a strong start, the gap to fifth place increased more and more until they fell completely behind at Easter. In the end, the team was in 15th place with 30:46, which should be enough for the fourth-class Association League Southwest , thus preventing a complete crash into the 2nd amateur league.

Decline to the A-Class

The 1978/79 season in the association league was then relatively calm and in the end the team landed with 35:33 points in eighth place. The second season was disastrous, after the 13th matchday the team was beaten with 3:23 points in the last place in the table. Numerous changes in the players and coaches could not help with the situation, with the result that the team had to relegate to the district league Vorderpfalz as the penultimate in the end . After that, they were a long way from being promoted again, the next two seasons ended in eighth and then even in 13th place. The 1982/83 season did not start well again and finally ended with a high number of goals conceded back in the middle A-Class, in which the team had not played for 30 years.

After a coaching change, things finally went better and the team was able to celebrate the championship and thus promotion again in the 1984/58 season. The next season in the district league should be successful again. With a strongly rejuvenated team, they achieved fifth place in the final table of the district league. The following season was then also finished with eighth place in the upper half of the table. The team also reached the semi-finals of the association cup for the first time in the club's history this season. But here you failed because of the personal cup fright in southwest Ludwigshafen on penalties. From 1989 the association introduced a two-track regional league, which should line up between the association and the district league. To qualify for this, at least seventh place had to be achieved. This succeeded the 1. FC then, so that the fifth division could be held.

Return to the Association League

In the national league, the team was then divided into the East relay. At the end of the 1990/91 season, he was even promoted to the association league again. In the following season, the team then played directly against relegation. At the end of the 1991/1992 season this should also be a reality. Several changes of coach were able to prevent the team from being passed through to the district league again. After the 1993/94 season, however, the promotion to the association league was successful again. With the introduction of the third-rate regional league in 1994, the team remained fifth-rate. In 1996, I managed to take part in the semi-finals of the Southwest Cup again . This time they played against the amateurs of 1. FC Kaiserslautern . After 90 minutes it was a draw in this game, but luck was in extra time with FCK, who scored the winning goal in the 100th minute thanks to the golden goal rule. Thus, the team again missed participation in the final of the cup.

After that, the team was able to stay in the league for many years, even if there was a relegation battle several times. After the 2009/10 season , the team was theoretically relegated as 14th. However, since the ATSV Wattenheim withdrew its team, relegation could be prevented. Since the squad for the new season was already put together for the national league, the strength of the team was missing in the following season , which meant that the team was then relegated.

New start in the district class

Due to financial burdens, there was even a risk of bankruptcy, which caused the team not to compete in the national league. Instead, the starting position of the second team in the district class was taken over. The youth teams also slipped more and more and thus the old skill level should not come back quickly. The first season in the district class was then only able to finish the new 1st team in eighth place. After that it got better and after the 2012/13 season the team reached third place, which is now back in the A-class league. In 2014, after successfully participating in a promotion round, he returned to the district league. The club still plays in this today.
