The FC Palatia Böhl 1908 eV is a German football club based in the Böhl district of the Rhineland-Palatinate municipality of Böhl-Iggelheim in the Rhine-Palatinate district .
history
Founded until World War II
The association was founded in 1908. The club thus followed the "Teutonia" football club , which had already been founded in 1905 or 1906, but which had to be dissolved again due to strong headwinds from the community. As a result of the disbanded sports and games club, the membership increased rapidly. In addition to soccer, the club has also been involved in athletics from the start. In 1912 they joined the South German Football Association and only narrowly lost the championship playoff against Germersheim in the first season . Because of the outbreak of the First World War, it stayed that way for the time being. After the war, the championship in the C-class was finally achieved in 1919. In the following year it went up and finally in 1923 also in the A-class. During the time of National Socialism , however, the steady rise was stopped for the time being, after the outbreak of the Second World War , gaming operations came to a complete standstill, with the exception of the youth sector.
post war period
After the end of the war, the club was left with nothing. Nevertheless, it was quickly possible to build up a good team again, in the regional cup of the 1947/48 season one should only fail at FK Pirmasens and at the end of the 1950/51 season finally also succeeded in the championship in the district class Vorderpfalz , after the equally successful qualifying games then succeeded finally for the next season the promotion to the third-class Landesliga Vorderpfalz at that time . With 36:16 points, they didn't miss championships just behind Mundenheimer SpVgg and had to make do with second place. For the next season, the 1st Amateur League Southwest was introduced, for whose qualification the table position of the FC should also be sufficient. Here they played a few more seasons in midfield, but then slipped down in the 1954/55 season and at the end of the 1955/56 season had only 10:50 points over the 16th and thus last place in the 2nd amateur league relegated. This was followed by a further downward trend that should bring the club up to the B class.
Current time
In the 2004/05 season, the first team played in the district class Vorderpfalz, where they finished 10th with 38 points. For the 2008/09 season it went to the Speyer district league, from which the 2010/11 season became the Rhein-Mittelhaardt district league. This was then converted into the B-Class Rhein-Mittelhaardt for the 2013/14 season. With 72 points, the championship was finally achieved after the 2016/17 season and thus the promotion to the A-class. From this one rose in the following season with only 13 points, but immediately as the last. So the team still plays in the B-Class today.
