SV Großräschen was founded in 1945 as SG Großräschen and is in the tradition of the previous clubs Vorwärts Großräschen and Alemannia Großräschen . In 1949 the name was changed to ZSG Großräschen . After a third place was achieved in the Brandenburg state soccer class in 1948/49 , Großräschen made it into the final of the Brandenburg Championship in the following season . Against the clearly favored team from ZSG Textil Cottbus Großräschen came to a surprising 2-0 victory and then took part as Brandenburg champion in the qualification for the newly created GDR league .

In the qualifying round, the Brandenburgers failed to Sachsenverlag Dresden , EHW Thale and KWU Weimar and became a founding member of the second-rate DS-League . In 1950 the second division was converted into the company sports community (BSG) Chemie Großräschen , which was renamed in 1954 as BSG Aufbau Großräschen . “Großräschen always played dangerous football on the small, narrow pitch, without any particular technical maturity”, the newspaper Das Volk described in 1950 the strength of the team at home. Großräschen held the second highest division in the GDR until the mid-1950s with mostly secured midfield positions. As the bottom of the table, structure Großräschen rose in 1956 together with Motor Nordhausen-West in the II. GDR League . In the period that followed, Großräschen played in the 2nd GDR league and the Cottbus district league until the early 1970s . In 1972, Aufbau Großräschen was back in high-class football for the last time. After the Cottbus district championship was won just before Lokomotive Cottbus , Großräschen rose again to the GDR league. With only six points, however, the BSG development had no chance and left the league with Motor Köpenick and Motor Hennigsdorf after only one season.

After the fall of the Wall , Aufbau Großräschen merged with the BSG activist Großräschen-Süd to form SV Record Großräschen . On a sporting level, the SV Rekord missed the qualification for the Association League Brandenburg and then disappeared in the lowlands of southern Brandenburg local football. The club, which was renamed SV Großräschen in 1994 , currently plays in the eight-class state class South Brandenburg.
