Erika Miklosa

Erika Miklósa (born June 9, 1970 in Kiskunhalas ) is a Hungarian coloratura soprano .

Life

Miklósa was trained as a singer at the Franz Liszt Conservatory in Szeged , at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia and at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan .

In 1991 she was engaged as a soloist at the Hungarian State Opera . She is best known as the interpreter of the role of Queen of the Night in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte . In 2004 she made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera in this role.

Miklósa became the Hungarian junior high jump champion . However, an accident prevented another career.
