Gerhard Siedl (born March 22, 1929 in Munich ; † April 18, 1998 there ) was a Saarland and German national football player .
Career
societies
At the age of 16 Siedl was already a member of the FC Bayern Munich squad, for which he (initially) was active in the Oberliga Süd from 1946 to 1948 . In the 1948/49 season he played for Borussia Neunkirchen in the Saarland Honor League , then returned to Bayern Munich for two seasons. From 1951 to 1953 he played again for Borussia Neunkirchen, but this time in the Oberliga Südwest . He then switched to league rivals 1. FC Saarbrücken , for whom he played 94 league games from 1953 to 1956 and scored 43 goals. This was followed by a season in the Oberliga Süd for Karlsruher SC and three seasons in this again for Bayern . With both clubs he won the club cup once .
After 15 years of football in Germany, he moved abroad. First he was active in the 1960/61 season in the National League A , the top division in Switzerland , for FC Basel in ten point games. Before the end of the season he moved to Austria and in 1961 played nine point games for the A division club SV Austria Salzburg . With the relegation of the club to the second-class Regionalliga West, he went to the Netherlands and completed a season for the second division club Alkmaar '54 . With the descent of the club to the third-class Tweede Divisie , he left this and was again active in Austria for FC Dornbirn 1913 , with whom he won the championship in the Regionalliga West at the end of the 1962/63 season.
National team
As a player from Borussia Neunkirchen, he made his international debut on September 15, 1951 , which he immediately crowned with his first goal in Bern , in the 5-2 victory of the Saarland national team against the Swiss B selection team. He played his 16th and last international match for the SFV on June 6, 1956, which was lost 2: 3 against the Netherlands in Amsterdam .
For the B national team , he played his only two internationals on March 6, 1957, in a 4-0 win against Poland in Munich , and on March 27, 1957, in a 3-3 draw against Hungary in Essen for this selection team.
Shortly afterwards, on April 3, 1957, he finally made his debut in the senior national team , where he scored the 1-0 opening goal in the 33rd minute in their 2-1 win over the Dutch team in Amsterdam. He played his last international match for the DFB on December 20, 1959 in Hanover in a 1-1 draw against Yugoslavia . The technically adept but lazy Siedl was used twice as a striker in 1957 and four times as a midfielder in 1959.
