Klaus Havenstein (born June 15, 1949 in Belgershain ) is a former German football player.

Athletic career

Havenstein began his football career with the local company sports community (BSG) Traktor in Belgershain. As a junior player he switched to BSG activist Espenhain, which he left after two years in the direction of his previous community. He then played for BSG Traktor in Otterwisch , BSG Chemie Böhlen and BSG Motor Grimma .

After completing school, he completed an apprenticeship as a welder. Moved to Zeithain for basic military service with the NVA in November 1973 , Havenstein initially played for the local ASG Vorwärts Zeithain. Already on December 3, 1973 he was delegated to the army sports community Vorwärts Löbau , which was represented in the second highest division, the league , in the 1973/74 season . In Löbau Havenstein played after relegation from the second division until May 1975 in the Dresden district league .

Then Havenstein rejoined the league eleven of Chemie Böhlen, with whom the striker was top scorer in his league season in 1976 with 15 goals. His accuracy was largely responsible for the first league ascent of the Böhlener in spring 1977, when he finished second in the scorers list of season D with 13 hits behind Erhard Gröger and marked two more goals in the promotion round. In the league season 1977/78 Havenstein immediately won the top scorer's crown with 15 hits again, which contributed to the surprising relegation of the Rand Leipzig team . In the following year , his 10 goals and the performances of his teammates were no longer enough to remain in the league.

The 1979/80 league season was all the more successful: In 22 league games he scored 30 goals and Chemie managed to return to the East German House of Lords immediately via the promotion round. Despite Havenstein's 17 goals this season, the team was immediately relegated. Again the team returned the following year with six Havenstein goals in the promotion round in the league and the thoroughbred striker scored another 13 goals in 1982/83 on the top floor of GDR football . After the third relegation, the attacker was top scorer three times in a row in his GDR league relay, but no more were added to his 55 goals in 92 first division games.

(Player) coaching career

Klaus Havenstein ended his career as a player-coach. When he was over 50, he played for Otterwischer SV. Then he trained among others the SV Klinga- Ammelshain, the SV Eiche Wachau and the Bornaer SV . From the 2006/07 season he was responsible for SV Naunhof 1920.
