history
The place Otterwisch was first mentioned in writing in 1269. The meaning of the place name cannot be determined with certainty. Großbuch has been part of Otterwisch since 1970. Its origin can be traced back to Wiprecht von Groitzsch and can be related to the year 1104. The focal point is the church, in whose massive tower three valuable bronze bells from the pre-Reformation period are still in service today.
The district of Großbuch was affected by the persecution of witches from 1488 to 1489 . The potter in large book got into a witch trial .
