Sascha Mölders (born March 20, 1985 in Essen ) is a German football player . The striker is under contract with TSV 1860 Munich . He also trained as a still active player for the Bavarian state division club SV Mering.

Career

In his youth Mölders had played for Vogelheimer SV Essen and Atletico Essen before he moved to SGS Essen . As a striker , he moved to Schwarz-Weiß Essen in 2000 .

He spent his first senior season in 2003/04 with the Essen district league team DJK Wacker Bergeborbeck . As the top scorer , he returned to the ETB Black and White, for which he completed two seasons in the Oberliga Nordrhein .

In July 2006 he joined the second team of MSV Duisburg . There he scored ten goals in two months and trained with the first team. After becoming the top scorer in the Oberliga Nordrhein in the 2006/07 season with 24 goals , he was finally promoted to the professional squad in the summer of 2007.

Mölders made his Bundesliga debut on September 30, 2007 (8th matchday) in the 1: 2 defeat in the away game against Hannover 96 , when he was used for left-back Pablo Cáceres in the 81st minute. In his first season he was used eleven times and remained without a goal; at the end of the season his club was relegated .

From the 2008/09 season Mölders played for Rot-Weiss Essen in the Regionalliga West . There he signed a contract with a term of two years, which was prematurely extended to 2011 regardless of league. In the 2008/09 season he was the top scorer in the Regionalliga West with 28 goals.

In January 2010 Mölders moved to the relegation-threatened second division club FSV Frankfurt . In the first game for the Bornheimer he injured himself and was out for two game days. For the remaining twelve matches, he was set as a striker and contributed with three goals to keep the FSV. In the summer of 2010, he extended his contract, which was originally valid until 2011, by two years. In the second division season 2010/11 he was the top scorer of the FSV.

For the 2011/12 season Mölders moved to Bundesliga promoted FC Augsburg , for whom he made his debut on August 6, 2011 (1st matchday) in a 2-2 game against SC Freiburg and scored his first two Bundesliga goals. In addition, the professional was involved as a youth coach and deputy head of department at the local regional league club Kissinger SC . In between, a change to FC Stätzling was officially announced in 2014. However, his engagement there ended after seven days due to changed club structures and the separation of the local youth leader from the club.

After Mölders only made four Bundesliga appearances in the first half of the 2015/16 season , he switched to the second half of the season on loan to TSV 1860 Munich . For the 2016/17 season Mölders moved permanently to TSV 1860 Munich. After his relegation to the Regionalliga Bayern , Mölder's contract period initially ended. In July 2017 he was signed up for another year from 1860. Mölders developed into a key player of the team and contributed with 19 league goals to the most goals, whereby the championship could be won. In the subsequent victorious promotion games against 1. FC Saarbrücken , Mölders made a significant contribution to the promotion to the third division with a total of 3 goals .

In October 2019, the striker announced in an interview with Augsburger Allgemeine that he would end his active career after the 2019/20 season. He plans to act as a player-coach in Bavaria and also want to take care of obtaining the DFB-Elite-Jugend- and the A-coaching license. A little later he partially revised his statements and only confirmed his safe departure from TSV 1860 in spring 2020. After every 15 league goals and assists in 37 games (he missed one due to a yellow card suspension), the deputy captain extended his contract with 1860 Munich afterwards the season then until June 2022.
