Leon Klassen ( Russian Леон Классен ; born May 29, 2000 in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler ) is a Russian - German football player .

Career

Klassen, who was born in Bad Neuenahr as the son of a Russian and a Russian-German , began playing football at SC Bad Bodendorf. After holding positions at TuS Koblenz and 1. FC Köln , he moved to TSV 1860 Munich in 2017 . Although he was still part of the U19 squad, he already played 14 games for the second team in the Bayernliga Süd in the 2017/18 season, where he contributed one goal and two assists. On the last match day of the 2017/18 regional league season, he played for the first time in the professional team of the sixties and played 90 minutes. In the 4-1 victory over SpVgg Bayreuth , he prepared a goal. In the 2018/19 season he was also a member of the Bayernliga team and made 20 appearances (one goal; two assists). There were also two professional appearances in the Bavarian Association Cup. Due to his consistently good performance, he finally moved up to the professional squad of the Lions in the 2019/20 season and made his first appearance in the 3rd division on matchday 3 when he came on for Benjamin Kindsvater in the 87th minute . A few seconds later he prepared the goal for the 3-0 final score. On the 7th matchday, Klassen was in the starting line-up against Chemnitzer FC for the first time and scored his first goal in professional football with a 1-0 final score in the 76th minute of the same game.
