Club career
Salger moved to 1. FC Köln at the age of twelve. After going through all of Cologne's youth teams, he joined the club's second team for the 2009/10 season. In his first season in the Regionalliga West he was on the field 26 times and scored one goal.
In the summer of 2010 he made the leap into the first team. He made his debut for 1. FC Köln on August 15, 2010 in the DFB Cup game against ZFC Meuselwitz . On the first day of the 2010/11 season against 1. FC Kaiserslautern , he was on the grid for his first professional league game.

After the loan ended, he initially returned to Cologne, but signed a three-year contract with Arminia Bielefeld a little later . With the Arminia, Salger won the Westphalia Cup twice and made it to the 2nd place in 2013 and 2015 Bundesliga on.
