Nathan de Medina (born October 8, 1997 ) is a Belgian football player with Cape Verdean roots. The defender is under contract with Arminia Bielefeld in Germany and is a former Belgian junior international.
Career
society
De Medina was trained at RSC Anderlecht , for which he was also used in the UEFA Youth League in addition to the league . As a regular player, the central defender and the team reached the semi-finals of the competition in spring 2015 , where they failed to Shakhtar Donetsk . A year later, de Medina and the A-Juniors of Anderlecht again made it into the round of the best 4, this time the later winner FC Chelsea won . In May 2016, the defender was active for the first time for the professional team on the last two match days of the championship round , when he played the full playing time on the right defensive flank for the eventual runner-up.
For the 2016/17 season, de Medina was awarded to the second division club OH Leuven . Until January 2017 he played fifteen times from the start until he suffered an adductor injury and returned to Anderlecht early. After completing the Supercuppartie , in which the defender was not in the squad, this was sold to the league competitor Royal Excel Mouscron . After initial difficulties, de Medina was regularly used in the starting XI from the 13th matchday, but had to play with the team to stay in the league. The season 2018/19 missed de Medina to within two games of a number injuries completely, in the following year the new German head coach put him Bernd Hollerbach in 22 league games on different defensive positions in the 4-3-3 system.
In summer 2020, the Belgian signed a three-year contract with the German Bundesliga promoted Arminia Bielefeld . There he is to replace Jonathan Clauss on the right defensive flank .
