Jacob Barrett Laursen (born November 17, 1994 in Arden ) is a Danish football player . He is under contract with Arminia Bielefeld in Germany and is a former Danish junior international.

Career

society

Laursen began playing football in his native Arden in northern Jutland , where he joined Arden IF, and at the age of 14 he moved to the partner club Aalborg BK's football school . In 2012 he moved abroad to the Italian record champions Juventus Turin , for whom he was only used in the Primavera team. After a year, the defender returned to his homeland on loan and joined Odense BK . Before that, he completed a trial training session with the Dutch first division club Excelsior Rotterdam, trained by the former Danish international Jon Dahl Tomasson .

Laursen played his first first division game on November 10, 2013 in a 3-1 home game in the Superliga against FC Vestsjælland . In the 2013/14 season he only made six league appearances, but was nevertheless firmly committed in July 2014. After not appearing in his first season after his permanent commitment, Laursen played more regularly in the final stages of the 2015/16 season and was in the starting XI in each of his games. The defender was not one of the regulars in the 2016/17 season either, but he played more often. In the 2017/18 season he fought for a regular place from the seventh match day, but was missing in two games due to a broken hand and in the relegation round due to an appendectomy. Laursen scored his first goal on September 24, 2017 in a 3-1 home win over Randers FC . The 2018/19 season marked the final breakthrough for Laursen in Odense, who since then has mostly played in the position of left defender or as a left midfielder. In spring 2020 he had to play with his club against relegation, but was able to keep the class with him.

For the 2020/21 season, the Dane moved to Germany to join Bundesliga promoted Arminia Bielefeld . There he signed a three-year contract.

National team

Laursen played once for the Danish U16 team in 2010 . He then played four times for the U17 national team and also took part in the 2011 World Cup finals in Mexico , where the Danes were eliminated after the group stage. Laursen came to an assignment. After retiring from the U17s due to age, he played six times for the U18 team from 2011 to 2012 , and in 2013 Laursen played a game for the U19 national team . In the same year he also played three times for the U20 team. In 2016, Laursen took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with Denmark and made his only appearance in the group game against South Africa.
