Stefan Ortega Moreno (born November 6, 1992 in Hofgeismar ) is a German football goalkeeper of Spanish- German descent. He is under contract with Arminia Bielefeld .
Career
Stefan Ortega Moreno began his career at the North Hessian club TSV Jahn Calden and first moved to KSV Baunatal and then to KSV Hessen Kassel . In 2007 Ortega Moreno moved to Arminia Bielefeld's B-Youth , where he was initially used in the U17 and A-Junior Bundesliga . In the 2010/11 season he came on six missions in the second team of Arminia, which played in the Regionalliga West . A year later he was appointed to the first team. Ortega Moreno played his first game in the third division on October 1, 2011 against 1. FC Heidenheim . Due to good performances, Ortega Moreno stayed in the goal of Arminia even after the actual regular keeper Patrick Platins had recovered .
After the late equalization in the game against the arch rivals of Arminia Preußen Münster , which he was responsible for, Ortega Moreno lost his regular place to platinum again. This did not change in the next season, in which Ortega Moreno only scored a few games in the Westphalia Cup and the last game of the season in Burghausen. After the successful promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2012/2013 season , Ortega Moreno extended his contract with East Westphalia for two more years.
In June 2014 Ortega Moreno moved to TSV 1860 Munich on a free transfer . He made his debut in the goal of the Munich Lions in the 2-1 win over Holstein Kiel in the first round of the DFB-Pokal 2014/15 . After Gábor Király moved to Fulham at the end of August 2014 , Ortega Moreno established himself as the new goalkeeper.
After the relegation of TSV 1860 Munich in the 2016/17 season , Ortega Moreno left the club. He moved back to Arminia Bielefeld and signed a contract until 2020. There, he succeeded Wolfgang Hesl as the regular goalkeeper. In January 2020 Ortega Moreno extended his contract until June 2022 after Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen , among others, showed interest in him.

Ortega Moreno has been part of the German U19 national team since the fall of 2010 , but was not used.
