Patrick Platins (born April 19, 1983 in Immenstadt im Allgäu ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .
Career
Platinum was used for the first time in the second team of VfL Wolfsburg in 2002 . Shortly thereafter, he got his first professional contract and became the third and fourth goalkeeper of the Bundesliga team. There he did not appear in the Bundesliga, but played regularly in the second team.
In 2008 it was awarded to FC Augsburg for a rental fee of 10,000 euros for half a year . However, he was not used there. At the beginning of the 2008/09 season he returned to VfL Wolfsburg, where he was again in the second team.
After the season, his contract was not extended, after which he did not find a new club. In February 2010 he was signed by Arminia Bielefeld after substitute goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez injured himself during a game. In Bielefeld, Platins made his professional debut on the last day of the 2009/10 season. For Arminia he also played the last six games of the 2010/11 season , the only exception being the last home game of the season, in which Dennis Eilhoff played his farewell game. With Arminia Bielefeld, he was relegated from the bottom of the table in the second Bundesliga.
In the third division season 2011/12 Plantins was set in goal under the new coach Markus von Ahlen . After the Arminia could not win any of the first ten games, von Ahlen was fired. His successor Stefan Krämer switched the team to some positions, so that Platins also lost his regular place to Stefan Ortega Moreno , who was nine years his junior . After this played some strong games and also found Arminia overall back on the road to success, Plantins initially had to be content with the reserve role. This changed on matchday 30, when Arminia had to accept the late equalizer to 2-2 due to a play error Ortegas against arch rivals Preußen Münster. Platins then returned to the Bielefelder Tor the next match day and kept this place for the remaining eight games of the season.
The 2012/13 season was extremely successful for both Platins and Arminia . With the exception of a few games in the Westphalia Cup and the last game of the season in Burghausen, the goalkeeper completed all the games for the Blues and showed a convincing performance. This season was crowned with promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga, through which Platinum's contract was automatically extended. After the immediate relegation, he received no new contract.
On July 31, 2014, he moved to the second division promoted SV Darmstadt 98 , where he signed a contract valid until June 30, 2016. Without playing in the second division, he rose to second place in the Bundesliga with the “lilies” at the end of the season . He ended his active career after the 2015/16 season.
Since July 2017 he has been the goalkeeping coach of the women's team at VfL Wolfsburg .
