Sergio Duvan Córdova Lezama (born August 9, 1997 in Calabozo ) is a Venezuelan football player . He is on loan from FC Augsburg to Arminia Bielefeld and is a national team player .

Career

society

Córdova joined the youth team of FC Caracas in 2013 from the Arroceros de Calabozo Fútbol Club . In 2015 he made his debut for the first team in the Primera División . In the Copa Sudamericana 2017 he made his international club debut with Caracas against Club Cerro Porteño .

In July 2017, Córdova was signed by Bundesliga club FC Augsburg . On August 26, 2017, he scored his first Bundesliga goal in the home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach to make it 2-2. With a few exceptions, Córdova was used as a substitute in the storm center, played 27 competitive games and had 4 goal participations. However, he was also out for a few weeks due to an injury. In the following two years, changing head coaches relied on Michael Gregoritsch or Alfreð Finnbogason and later on Florian Niederlechner , especially since the Venezuelan was repeatedly thrown back from further injuries and was only directly involved in six other hits. However, six goals after substitution still make him the club's most successful joker in the top German league.

For the 2020/21 season , a loan deal was agreed with the newcomer and future competitor Arminia Bielefeld and the contract with Córdova, which is still valid until 2022, was extended for another three years. Augsburg thus corresponded to the player's direct wish for better chances to play, whereby the Arminia second division shooter king Fabian Klos and Andreas Voglsammer had been able to hold on and also signed two more strikers.

National team

At the U20 South American Championship 2017 , Córdova reached third place with the U20 national team of Venezuela . He then contributed to the finals of his team at the U20 World Cup 2017 with four tournament goals. On August 28, 2017, Córdova was nominated for the first time in the line-up of the Venezuelan senior team for two upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina and made her debut in the selection on August 31, 2017.
