Cebio Soukou (born October 2, 1992 ) is a German soccer player of Benin descent. He is under contract with Arminia Bielefeld and is a Benin national player.

Career

Youth career and VfL Bochum

Before Cebio Soukou joined the youth team at VfL Bochum , he played for TuS Querenburg and DJK Arminia Bochum. In the 2010/11 season he was the top scorer in the West season with 16 goals together with Tobias Steffen . After this season he was promoted to the second team and made his debut in the Regionalliga West on August 20, 2011 in a 0-0 draw against the second team from 1. FC Köln .

Rot-Weiss Essen and doping ban

For the 2012/13 season Soukou moved within the Regionalliga West to Rot-Weiss Essen . In the game against SC Fortuna Köln on October 25, 2012, he made his debut for Essen in the 1: 3 defeat and his first goal he celebrated on December 8, 2012 in the 2: 1 win against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen when he scored 1-0 in the 6th minute.

Soukou tested positive for the banned substance methylhexanamine on December 6, 2014 after the 1-1 draw with Sportfreunde Lotte . Hansa Rostock

In the summer of 2018, Cebio Soukou moved to third division Hansa Rostock . He signed a contract with the Ostseestädtern until 2019 plus an option for another year. Under coach Pavel Dotchev , he made his starting line-up debut on matchday 1 at the away game in Cottbus (0: 3). One game day later Soukou met in the home game against second division relegated Eintracht Braunschweig for the first time, and twice, and thus established the final score of the game. In the first main round of the DFB Cup in the game against Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart (2-0), he helped Rostock's team with his early 1-0 in the 8th minute on the way towards Siegerstrasse, but was eliminated in the second round against Bundesliga club Nuremberg on penalties.
