Career

As a player

Michel Dussuyer played as a youth at AS Cannes in 1970 and made the leap to the professional team in 1978. After he was rarely used in the first season, he became the goalkeeper in the following two years. In 1981 he moved to OGC Nice and was used 17 times two seasons. After the 1983/84 season, which he spent at Olympique Alès as a regular goalkeeper, he returned to Cannes in 1984. There he guarded the gate for twelve years and made 159 league games and four UEFA Cup games in the 1991/92 season .

As a trainer

After he ended his active career at Cannes in 1996, he worked there as an assistant coach for six years. In 2002 he was the first coach of the Guinean national soccer team until he had to give up his position in 2004. In 2006 he was Henri Michel's assistant coach in Ivory Coast . In the same year he returned to AS Cannes and trained there for a year. In June 2008 he took over the post of coach of the Beninese national soccer team until he had to vacate the dugout in February due to a miserable performance at the 2010 African Cup of Nations. On May 24, 2010 he was the second time coach of Guinea. With Guinea he qualified for the 2012 African Cup of Nations . After Dussuyer had to give up his position as national coach in 2013, he returned to office for a third time in February 2014. He made the same return to his old place of work in 2018 when he again took over the Benins.
