List of Austrian ambassadors in Ethiopia

The Austrian ambassador to Ethiopia resides in the Old Airport Area, South Africa Road, Near Besrate Gabriel Church, Addis Ababa . It is also accredited with the governments of South Sudan , Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania and Djibouti .

history

In 1906 Alphons von Mylius applied unsuccessfully for the post of kuk honorary consul in Addis Ababa. On January 21, 1911, Louis-François Kaden applied unsuccessfully for the post of honorary consul in Harrar . On October 11, 1912, Karl Schwimmer (born February 1, 1879 in Novi Sad ) applied for the case of an Imperial and Royal Honorary Consulate in Addis Abbeba for the award of this honorary post, which he held from December 5, 1912 to 1922 and for which he was in October Received exequatur in 1914 . From the beginning of April 1930 to 1936 Rudolf Singer (* 1871; † 1946), owner of Internationale Export-Import AG (IntAG), was honorary consul in Addis Ababa. After Ethiopia was occupied by Italy , Rudolf Singer applied to the Austrian Foreign Ministry to resign. 14 days later the government of Kurt Schuschnigg recognized the rule of Benito Mussolini over Ethiopia. In February 1937 Julius Benvenuti-Alberti applied for the post of Austrian consul in Addis Ababa, which was occupied by Italy. In May 1956, Othmar G. Singer, son of Rudolf Singer, became honorary consul in Addis Ababa.
