Paul Zedtwitz (born December 17, 1911 in Vienna , † June 14, 1996 in Attersee ) was an Austrian ambassador .

Life

Paul Zedtwitz was the son of Alexander Zedtwitz and came from the noble family of the same name . He married Renate Zacharias on September 12, 1944. Paul Zedtwitz visited the Public School Foundation Theresianische Academy and studied at the University of Vienna Law , where he became a doctor of law doctorate and entered 1947 in the foreign service. In 1949 he was secretary of legation in Ankara where he in the absence of Ambassador Clemens Wildner, chargé acted. From 1949 to 1952 he was employed in Athens . From 1954 to 1956 he was employed at the consulate in Trieste . From 1956 to 1958 he was counselor in Washington, DC , where he was also used as chargé d'affaires. From 1958 to 1962 he was ambassador to Santiago de Chile . He was Ambassador Addis Ababa from December 1 to 10, 1964 . On March 20, 1968, he was appointed Ambassador to Pretoria , where he was accredited from April 3, 1968 to October 25, 1972. From 1972 to 1973 he was ambassador to Algiers .
