Herbert Traxl

Herbert Traxl (born December 2, 1940 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian diplomat .

Life

Herbert Traxl studied law at the University of Vienna until 1963 . In 1965 he completed his court year . In 1973 he joined the foreign service. On April 26, 1983, he was appointed ambassador to Addis Ababa , where he was accredited from May 16, 1983 to August 3, 1988. From 1988 to 1990 he was ambassador to Tehran . From 1991 to 1995 he headed the Austrian Development Cooperation . From 1998 to 2002 he was ambassador to New Delhi and was accredited as ambassador to the governments of Bangladesh , Bhutan , Maldives , Nepal and Sri Lanka . From 2002 to 2005 he was Ambassador to Bangkok , Thailand and from March 25, 2003 he was accredited to the government of Myanmar . He has a teaching position at the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna .

Herbert Traxl is married and has one child.
