The 1.87 m tall center forward played for SC Vilnius and Lokomotiv Vilnius at home before moving to Germany in 1997. There the regional league clubs SC Paderborn 07 and Sportfreunde Ricklingen were his first stops. After Ricklinger relegation to the 4th league, Guščinas moved to Holstein Kiel for the first time in 1999 and immediately became a regular. In 2002/03 he was the top scorer in the Regionalliga Nord with 23 goals in 32 games and then moved to VfL Osnabrück in the 2nd Bundesliga for 100,000 euros , where he only managed one goal in ten games. During the winter break, VfB Stuttgart signed the striker for 175,000 euros. He never made the leap into the first division squad during his one and a half year stay, but scored nine goals in 36 games. Once he got a taste of the Champions League. He was in the squad against Chelsea London , but was not substituted on. In the summer of 2005 Guščinas then went to TuS Koblenz on a free transfer , which he was able to help in the first year with eight goals from 34 games for promotion to the second division. There he lost his regular place due to an injury and only played five games (no goal). In the winter Koblenz loaned him to Holstein Kiel for half a year and despite being relegated to the upper league, he convinced with 5 goals in 17 games, so Holstein signed him completely. The Oberliga Nord (4th division) season 2007/08 was very successful for Guščinas with fourteen goals in 27 games. Two more years with Holstein followed. The 2009/10 season in the 3rd division was the last for Guscinas in the service of KSV Holstein. After relegation to the Regionalliga Nord, the storks experienced a major upheaval, as a result of which Gucinas did not receive a new contract. The fans of the Kiel, with whom he had long since risen to the public's darling, tried to work towards a contract extension with an action in the Holstein Fan Forum. For the 2010/11 season Guscinas took over the position of player-coach at FC Sylt and was top scorer in the Schleswig-Holstein League with 31 goals . After the game year, the attacker changed again and joined league rivals VfR Neumünster , where he ended his playing career at the end of 2011. After a stint as a youth coach at Holstein Kiel, he is coach of the 2nd team of the Preetz TSV in the Schleswig-Holstein Association League East in the 2014/15 season .
