Gerhard Dier (born April 7, 1949 , † June 11, 2014 in Worms ) was a German football player .

Dier moved from SV Auersmacher to 1. FC Saarbrücken in 1967 and played a total of 52 games in the Regionalliga Südwest for the Saarlanders between 1967 and 1970 .

After another season at SV Auersmacher, the offensive player moved back to the then second-rate Regionalliga Südwest to Wormatia Worms and spent five seasons there, scoring 79 goals in 149 games.

His time at Wormatia Worms was only interrupted by a one-year interlude at VfR Mannheim . After this season, Dier returned directly to Wormatia and played 65 games in the 2nd Bundesliga South before ending his career.

At the beginning of the 1992/93 season, Gerhard Dier was introduced as the new coach of Wormatia. However, his term of office came to an early end in March 1993.

Gerhard Dier played a total of 89 games in the 2nd Bundesliga South and scored 17 goals.

Gerhard Dier died on June 11, 2014 at the age of 65.
