Massimo Cannizzaro (born April 3, 1981 in Cologne ) is a former German - Italian soccer player who last played for SC Fortuna Cologne .

Career

Cannizzaro began his career in the youth of TSV Rodenkirchen, then he went to 1. FC Köln , from where he then moved to the amateurs of MSV Duisburg . When he was without a club in 2004 after a pubic bone inflammation , he kept fit with the Equipe Romagna , a facility for footballers without a contract in Italy. In 2004 Massimo Cannizzaro then moved to KFC Uerdingen 05 , where he scored six times in 14 games. He then went to Kickers Emden in 2005, where he scored 13 goals in 32 games. In 2006 he moved to Hamburger SV. There Cannizzaro was the top scorer of the Regionalliga Nord in 2006 with 17 goals . In 2008 he moved to the third division Rot-Weiß Erfurt for whom he made his professional debut in the opening game against Dynamo Dresden . His contract there was terminated retrospectively as of December 31, 2009.

On January 4, 2010, Massimo Cannizzaro was introduced as the new striker of the third division Holstein Kiel . The contract with the storks runs until the summer of 2012. However, when Kiel was relegated to the regional league, his contract was canceled. Cannizzaro then signed a contract for two years until the end of the 2011/12 season with TuS Koblenz in the third division . After TuS voluntarily withdrew to the regional league, Cannizzaro left the club after just one year. For the second half of the 2011/12 season, Cannizzaro moved to the regional division Fortuna Cologne . There he ended his playing career in 2013 and switched to the coaching staff.
